Study on Effects of Geometric Parameters on Tensile Strength of Hybrid Bonded-Rived Joint of Fiber Reinforced Polymer Plates

Abstract Hybrid bonded-rived joint combines bonding and riveting has become one of the most important connection forms in composite materials. This paper investigates analyzes influence geometric parameters CFRP hybrid joints on load-bearing strength. The finite element method is used to analyze strength bonded/riveted between carbon fiber metal under tensile load. different ratios joint’s e/D, w/D, w/e are analyzed. It shown that e/D w/D significantly impact damage loads failure mode joint. increase will change from shear-out net tension failure, effect opposite e/D. Under same area, impacts load joint, larger makes have a load, stiffness also large.
